Nine contingents make up the Arctic Winter Games including, Alaska, Alberta North, Greenland, Nunavik Quebec, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Sápmi, Yukon and Yamal.
Each contingent is responsible for hosting their respective tryouts to determine which participants will compete at the Arctic Winter Games.
